Director Zack Snyder’s first trailer for the Army of the Dead, about mercenaries planning a Las Vegas casino heist during a zombie apocalypse, hit on Thursday. These days, Snyder may be better known for superhero films (and, Streaming on March 18 on HBO Max), but his first feature film was in 2004 George A. Romero had a remake of Dawn of the Dead, so he knows his Murray.
I’m not sure why money is a concern in the zombie apocalypse, but each for their own good. Snyder Shared the trailer in a tweet, “What Happens in Vegas, Must Live in Vegas.”
A desolate Las Vegas now appears in the trailer which is overrun by a huge mob of zombies. In true Vegas style, we even see an Elvis impersonation in a crowd of dead people. We also get a glimpse of star Dave Botista and his team with some serious firepower, while Matthias Schweghofer’s character sports classic baseball bat nails.
Boista aka Drakes Destroyer from Guardians of the Galaxy Movies announced, preview coming with a Tweet on wednesday Picture of actor and a large pile of dead bodies. Other stars include Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi and Tiger Notaro.
The Army of the Dead is scheduled for release on May 21 on Netflix. And if you like the concept, then you’re in luck. Deadline is a film prequel and anime series planned.
