RK Shanmukham Chetty was the first Finance Minister to present India's interim budget in 1947.
HN Bahuguna and KC Neogy are the only two Finance Ministers in India's history who did not present any Union Budget due to their short tenures.
He was the second Finance Minister of Independent India, and served for only 35 days in 1950.
Bahuguna served as Finance Minister for five and a half months in 1979-80, hence he was unable to present the budget.
In 1991-92, two different individuals presented the interim and final budgets, respectively.
Congress' Yashwant Sinha presented the interim budget for 1991-92.
D. Manmohan Singh presented the final budget for the same year after Congress came into power, marking significant economic reforms such as reducing import duties and introducing service tax.
FM Sitharaman is set to present the budget for the year 2024-25 on February 1.
