Director-screenwriter Vikramaditya Motwane has officially announced the launch of his production company Andolan Films. He also revealed that AK vs AK, starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, was the company’s first feature production.
“New year, new film, new production company,” he wrote on an Instagram post. He also thanked those who helped him with names, logos, music etc.
“Thank you for old, new and future colleagues. You helped us get here and we hope you will join us in this journey. The revolution may hurt, but it will be exhilarating !! “, Said Motwane.
AK vs AK started streaming on Netflix on 24 December.
Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave the film 2.5 stars. He wrote, “Motwane’s film is not just meta. It is meta-meta, especially when parts are too close to the mark, and some are just off the mark. No one can become a star overnight, unless Let your surname not be Kapoor, annihilate Anurag, which will spoil Anil’s mind. The line is well-known about the surprising longevity of corporates and khans. Had to work hard. And would AK Jr. ever say that to the AK scene on his face? “
Motwane was previously part of Phantom Films, jointly owned by his Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena and Vikas Bahl. Bahl was dissolved when he was accused of sexual harassment by a former employee.
