The Deepika Padukone-starrer The Intern added one of its important members to the cast, the actor announced on Monday. Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan will once again be seen sharing the screen space after Piku in the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood flick. The film was announced mainly with Deepika and the late actor Rishi Kapoor.
Sharing a poster that featured the silhouettes of Padukone and Big B, Deepika wrote that she is honored to collaborate once again with her most special co-star Amitabh Bachchan. The text reads, “What an absolute honor to collaborate again with my most special co-star! Welcoming @amitabhbachchan in the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern.”
The Internet is a remake of the Hollywood film of the same name, starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in key parts. The 2015 film directed by Nancy Meyers received mostly positive reviews upon release. Now it remains to be seen whether Sr. Bachchan and Deepika Padukone will be able to recreate the magic of the original.
The intern is being starred by Badhai Ho’s Amit Sharma and is being co-produced by co-producers Sunil Khetarpal, Deepika Padukone in association with Warner Bros. India. The screenplay is composed by the pair of Akshat Ghildiyal and Mitesh Shah. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
Apart from The Intern, Deepika Padukone will be seen sharing screen space with her real-life husband Ranveer Singh in the sports drama 83, where she will play the role of Romil Bhatia, Kapil Dev’s wife. Deepika Padukone has a Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathan and an action fighter.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan prepared Chehra, Jhund and Brahmastra for release.
