When was the last time you worked out your soul? – TechCrunch

The huge TAM of fake breaded chicken bits – ClearTips

Hello and welcome to Equity, ClearTips’s venture capital-focused podcast, where we unpack the numbers behind the headlines.

We’re closing our survey soon, so this is (probably) your last chance to have your voice heard!

Despite being a short week, as always, it was a busy, hectic time. We Please on the dial today, and danny, Natasha, and alex Chit-chatting about the world of technology. Like every week this year, we had to cut and cut and cut to get the show in shape. Here’s what made it in the end:

  • Medium lays off more employees after CEO Eve Williams published a ‘culture memo’. While the Medium memo does not ban politics outright, some allege that the tone of the statement created an unsafe environment weeks after a failed unionization effort. A week later, Natasha covered another controversy, this time at Y Combinator. We trust the takeaway, and this is what the story will look like three months from now.
  • The issue of company culture is attracting companies. Or more accurately the startup, Blendur, dropped a new report this week that ClearTips covered, and Vault raised $8.2 million to provide a software solution to help employees report misconduct.
  • On the funding round beat, we discovered ChartHop’s new $35 million round that Danny had many ideas about, fake-chicken nuggets startup Nuggs raised $50 million, and Faculty’s latest deal that’s promising the future of male beauty. Will help give strength to your vision. We also participated in the elder-care focused round of Lifted, a startup in the larger healthtech beat that Natasha is focusing some of her attention on.
  • And we wrapped up with the XtraHop exit. We spent a minute trying to figure out why the company’s exit was worth $900 million. Based on what we knew about the company, the numbers, while large, felt light.

Thank you for joining us this week and every week. Quick programming note: Natasha will replace Alex on Monday’s show for next week because she’s out, so be nice, and send her stuff To mention.
