Fortunately, there are many things you can do before the unveiling of the next big gaming console. For example, investing in a TV that takes full advantage of the advanced capabilities of these next-gen consoles.
For our money, the best new TV for these upcoming game consoles is the LG CX 65-inch 4K OLED TV, thanks to its impeccable picture and many gaming-centric features. However, this is not the only screen that is capable of working when it comes to gaming – far from it in fact.
Here are the best TVs available for your future so far – PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Keep in mind that many of these models are also suitable for the console’s current lineup, even if they are more suitable for next-gen hardware.

Why we chose LG CX OLED TV:
Our own Caleb Dennison was completely impressed with the picture quality of the LG GX series, although it came in an expensive package. The CX offers quality without beauty and at the same price point as the former. The $ 2,800 price tag for a 65-inch TV is still a lot, but it offers $ 700 in GX Series savings, and many see the low price as a bargain for these features.
Having yet another stunning LG OLED display, the CX Nvidia comes with both G-Sync and AMD Freescience compatibility, thanks to recent software updates. Both technologies aim to make gameplay as smooth as possible, a project to pair well with the black levels and colors built into an OLED picture. Toss on the fact that all four HDMI ports meet the latest HDMI 2.1 specifications – with features like variable refresh rate (VRR), auto low latency mode (ALM), and EARC – a 120 Hz core panel, and this TV Hopefully – and necessary – for gaming.
We previously chose the LG C9 as our favorite TV for gaming, and the 2019 model is still good for a cheaper price than the new CX. Best QLED TV for Gaming: Samsung Q80T QLED
Why you should buy this: It packs a lot of the same gaming price without the heftier price tag found in LG Gaming.
what’s that for: OLEDs are looking for high-quality performance to the game without spending a level of money.
Why we chose Samsung Q80T QLED:
Samsung’s Q90T is believed to be the better QLED TV of the bunch, but there is a reason we chose the Q80T instead. The Q90T has better HDR and a higher impact picture, but otherwise, these two displays share a lot of features that make them ideal for gaming. You’re going to get at least the PS5’s savings by going with the $ 1,800 Q80T.
To begin, the Q80T has the quality of quantum dot technology we’ve become accustomed to, with Samsung claiming that its displays can deliver more than a billion colors. It features a powerful 4K picture processor and compelling HDR technology, which Samsung says will help create a deeper contrast between those billion colors. It may not be Samsung’s flagship 4K model, but in terms of picture quality, the Q80T is no slouch.
Then we come to gaming, an area that Samsung has devoted much energy to in recent years. The Q80T features an HDMI 2.1 input, 10ms input lag, 120Hz panel, variable refresh rate, and an ultra wide viewing angle, allowing you to drop low to photograph games from multiple locations in a room (which is especially handy for partitions Comes) -screen application). Why you should buy this: It is a huge performance for a larger-than-life quality match.
what’s that for: Whoever wants to leapfrog a 4K TV and no matter the cost, moves on to the next big thing.
Why we chose Sony Z8H:
The Z8H is not currently our favorite 8K TV – the honor belongs to the LG Z9 88-inch OLED, which comes at a price of $ 30,000 for an 88-inch display. If you’re not ready to spend the price of a new car on a TV, though, we suggest the Z8H, a stable, but comparatively better option for the 75-inch model at $ 6,000.
Local Dimming Plus Offering a full-array LED panel with a powerful XI Ultimate processor that can extend any content up to 8K, the Z8H is a truly powerful machine. And before you mention the display, the 8k X-Tended Dynamic Range Pro – which Sony says adjusts brightness to higher peaks in situations where you’re dealing with glare and darker blacks in darker environments – or its object-based HDR remastering technique, where the contrast adjusts the color in different objects on the screen.
Sony has the advantage of being the TV company behind the PlayStation 5, so it specifically builds compatibility between its console and display. Of course, the 8K output is available with both the PS5 and Z8H, although we’re still waiting to capture content with the technology there. According to Sony, the Z8H will recognize the console when connected via HDMI, and will automatically switch to game mode for gameplay.
The Z8H is the most expensive TV on this list, and for many, the $ 6,000 display owes a lot to any television, even with additional benefits designed for gaming. Those who can justify it, however, are in for a treat when they finally pair this bee with a shiny new PS5.
Best Budget TV for Gaming: Vijeo P-Series
Why you should buy this: It is a very capable gaming TV at a very comfortable price point.

This isn’t for the best gaming experience hands-down compared to other TVs on this list, but you can get the most enjoyment per dollar from the P-series. At least, if it were a unit you could actually measure.
If you were so inclined, go for Vizio’s P-Series Quantum X models, which are designed for a brighter picture and more local dimming zones than the standard P-series. There is a $ 200 difference between the two models, and we’re not sure the Quantum X series is enough to justify the average gummer that would cost more than $ 1,100 for an extra 65-inch P Series.
