Dell’s work, especially in the Ultrabook area, has received an incredible new crop of ultraportable laptops that work brilliantly, have powerful specs, and leave no ghosts without a fight. If you need a PC for work or school and want it to last as long as possible, Dell’s machines are a great option. And Dell has arguably one of the best business laptops in its Latitude 7400 2-in-1, which offers a solid design and multi-day battery life.

This is especially true with its latest XPS models, which do everything at a higher level. They have the latest screen resolution, connections, software, and innovative content. The latest XPS 13 2020 model is no exception, and remains at the top as a compact laptop to compare everything to. Newer versions also have a webcam back at the top bezel, just like more traditional laptops, and can be configured with a six-core Intel 1oth-gen Comet Lake processor. Most recent

And Dale doesn’t stand still. It was the first to introduce Intel’s upcoming Ice Lake 10th-gen CPU, which offers improved performance and battery life. The XPS 13 2-in-1 refresh was Dell’s initial entry, and it improved the screen ratio from the usual 16: 9 to 16:10 for better productivity.

Dell’s line of laptops looks great, offers decent internal hardware, and heaps of style. They are premium material, sport solid battery life, and lightweight and portable. Some of Dell’s budget or business-oriented laptops are still lacking, but in the XPS line, it’s hit after hit.

If there is one thing that almost everyone agrees on, it is that Apple laptops are very reliable and predictable. When you buy a MacBook, you know what to expect. You’ll get a beautiful screen, solid battery life, and a beautiful chassis with a thin beak. They are slightly more expensive than their Windows counterparts and sometimes the hardware doesn’t always quite measure up, but when it comes to style, ease of use, and reliability, Apple laptops are on top.

Apple updated the MacBook line to the Pro family with faster CPUs, along with a single touch bar for all MacBook Pros – and all price hikes. Later in 2020, we should expect to see even more significant updates, including a new keyboard that should resolve reliability issues with the current Butterfly model. Above all, there is a new MacBook Pro 16-inch model that we reviewed and considered the best Mac in years, and the smaller MacBook Pro 13-inch now comes with an improved keyboard and other improvements.

The MacBook Pro line is easily its best, but that doesn’t mean the standard MacBooks aren’t worth considering. Apple recently refreshed the MacBook Air lineup with a 10th-gen Ice Lake processor, and the MacBook Air 2020 is a great start for those getting their first, ultra-portable Mac.

They are quite cute, with new gem-cut designs featuring the Spector line and a sleek, modern look portraying the latest latest envy. 13. And through this, HP has earned a reputation for reliable laptops with very capable customer services.

Today HP regularly goes head to head with some of the world’s best laptop manufacturers. Its Specter x360 stole the show from head to head against the Surface laptop and even gave the Surface Book 2 for its money. Spector x360 15 and brand-new Spector x360 13 also feature AMOLED versions that provide incredibly bright and vibrant displays that will appeal to creative types and Netflix bingers alike. The new Spector x360 13 also fixes its larger bezel problem and cuts the smallest figure for the 13.3-inch 2-in-1.

Customer support options place HP in the top five of all manufacturers. With the option of a comprehensive warranty of up to three years, you can also afford some serious protection for your new laptop.

HP’s laptops may not always steal the show, but its lineup of hardware is more robust than it is today and if you want a choice of some of the offerings above, it’s worth considering.

Surface book 2 op-ed header

A decade ago no one would have thought that Microsoft would be one of the best laptop brands in the world, but today this list has earned well. After a few iterations of Surface tablets with few reliability issues, today Microsoft claims 99 percent reliability on its new Surface devices and provides hardware that is often class-leading in its own way.

The Surface Book 2 has some of the best battery life we’ve ever seen in a laptop, convertible or no, and Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 7 is our favorite 2-in-1 right now. Budget laptops like the Surface Laptop 3 (now with the 15-inch version) and mid-range devices and Surface Go are still one of Microsoft’s best laptop brands today. It provides a standard one-year warranty for surface products. New owners should run into trouble with free technical support for 90 days.

Not all Surface devices are great, and we certainly have our favorites, but this is no different from the other entries on this list, making us a bit more excited to have Microsoft up our sleeves for the next round. And if you’re missing Microsoft mobile devices, you should check out the Surface Duo, which is the first step in the dual-screen market, but still has potential. (Here we want to see improvement.)

Asus laptops may not often top our best lists, but they usually warrant a medal due to their superb all-round capabilities. Its current crop of laptops include thin and light Zenbooks, inexpensive Chromebooks, as well as powerful gaming machines such as the incredible 2020 ROG Zephyrus G14. And as much as anyone, Asus is leading the movement to pack as many laptops as possible in small chassis.

The Asus ZenBook 13 has one of the most attractive and different designs we’ve seen, an outstanding 1080p screen and long battery life. The Asus ZenBook S13 UX392 is also a stunner, and comes with a 97 percent screen-to-body ratio for bezels that are just 2.5 millimeters thick. Other excellent options for Asus include the Asus Zenbook 15 UX 534 FN and Zenbook 14 UX 433 FN, both of which come with thin bezels and a smaller and lighter chassis, as well as plenty of performance.

Consider Asus David the Goliaths of Dell, HP, and Apple. It makes great laptops at attractive prices, and the company falls short in a year of the accident and offers protection for free.
