Sushant Singh Rajput’s space film to be revived, director says ‘it will be a tribute’

Chanda Mama Door Ke, India’s first space film starring Sushant Singh Rajput, will be revived, which will be confirmed by director Sanjay Puran Singh. The film was announced in 2017 and Sushant played the role of an astronaut. However, Sushant left the project in 2018 due to several delays.

But now, Singh wanted to revive Chanda Mama Door Ke as a tribute to the late actor. “The film is not a shelter. I hope I am able to translate on screen what I have imagined in my head and put on paper. He said, I am not reviving it right now because it has not been a year for Sushant to pass away; Their loss has ended emotionally, ”he told Mid-Day.

The filmmaker also shared how Sushant was linked to the film and hence he planned to make it as a ‘tribute’. “Whenever I make a film, it will be a tribute to Sushant. He loved the script so much that I owe it to him. They had given a lot of input for the material, ”said Singh. Sushant Singh Rajput participated in this role in 2017. He visited the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to get the first experience of an astronaut’s life.

After Sushant’s death, Sanjay Pooran Singh “can’t think of a replacement” for him and thus plans to recreate the script of the film.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan were also signed for Chanda Mama Door Ke in 2017. But, with a re-script, it remains to be seen if the two will still join it.
