Producer Jackie Bhagnani shared Vikram’s first glimpse of the magnum opus film Suryaputra Mahavir Karna. Bhagnani took to Instagram on Tuesday and shared that the film is his ‘dream project’. “Growing up, I always fear an unheard warrior of the Mahabharata – # Karna. His journey sheds light on how one should have spirituality, generosity, humility, dignity, self-respect and respect for his loved ones in any situation in life. The 36-year-old actor said, “I am extremely grateful, excited and proud to present my dream project #SuryaputraMahavirKarna.”

Produced by Pooja Entertainment, Suryaputra Mahavir Karna is a Malayalam film written and directed by Annu Ninte Moideen K K R Vimal. The teaser of the film gives a glimpse of the scale on which the film is made.
Indianexpress.com previously reported that the film is made on an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore, which is more expensive than Baahubali: The Conclusion (Rs 250 crore).
“Mahabharata is an epic story that has inspired many filmmakers from all over the world. However, from the point of view of Suryaputra Mahavir Karna, barely a script is presented on celluloid. Bringing the story to life on the big screen for the first time by producers Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackie Bhagnani, read a statement from the makers.
Director Vimal informed indianexpress.com that the producers “hired technicians from Game of Thrones to work on the project.” He also revealed that the film, which will feature Vikram in the lead role of Karna, will hit the floors by October of this year. Suryaputra Mahavir Karna was announced in 2018, and it was expected to hit the screens during the first half of 2020. However, due to the coronovirus epidemic, the shooting was postponed.
