Actor-writer Seth Rogen says that Pineapple Express could have been the sequel, but Sony Pictures was not interested.
Rogan, who wrote and starred in the popular 2008 film, said he had an idea for the second installment but the studio lacked budget.
“We tried to make one. Thanks to the Sony hack, you can actually find the email when Sony killed the film. It was something we were open to years ago, but Sony was not interested in it, ”he said in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show.
“I think we probably wanted too much money. Studio, they are not far from paying. Strange, ”the actor said.
The Pineapple Express also stars James Franco, Gary Cole and Rosie Perez.
This story is followed by Rogan’s Dale Denton, a stoner who walks with his dealer (Franco) as a dangerous drug lord and chases a rogue soldier.
