Sardar ka Grandson song Main Teri Ho Gayi: Arjun Kapoor-Rakul Preet Singh’s romantic ballad is recreation done right

In another attempt to capitalize on the popularity of a popular Punjabi number, Bhushan Kumar’s T-series reunited Milind Gaba’s 2017 romantic song “Main Teri Ho Gayi” for Arjun Kapoor and the grandson of Rakul Preet Singh-starrer Sardar Ka has made. The song, originally composed by Milind Gaba, is unheard of by Tanishq Bagchi. While the original track has Punjabi lyrics, the remix has a mix of Hindi and Punjabi songs, which can make it great for a Hindi audience.

Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh unveiled the song on their respective social media page on Tuesday, which also stars John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari. Both will be seen playing pivotal roles in the film which follows the journey of a US-returning grandson (Arjun), who will go to any length to fulfill his grandmother’s final wish.

Tanishq Bagchi, who is often at the receiving end of criticism for the remix, has made no significant departure from the original “Main Teri Ho Gayi” – especially the dhol sound – other than lowering the tempo of the track. Therefore, like the original, the remade version is also pleasing to the ears. The video combines two love stories set in two different timelines – John and Aditi romancing each other during the pre-Partition period and Arjun and Rakul as modern lovers. While the former couple has a fascinating chemistry, nothing works for Arjun and Rakul. Not only do they act sluggishly on the screen – adding slow-motion scenes to it – but even as a pair, there is hardly a spark.

“Main Teri Ho Gayi” is sung by Milind Gaba and Pallavi Gaba.

Sardar’s grandson, which is Kashi Nair’s directorial debut, also stars Neena Gupta, Soni Razdan and Divya Seth. Supported by Emme Entertainment, John Abraham Entertainment and T-Series, the film will premiere on May 18 on Netflix.
