Sanjay Dutt remembers mother Nargis Dutt on her 40th death anniversary: ‘Not a day goes by when I don’t miss you’

Actor Sanjay Dutt walked down memory lane on Monday, sharing a childhood picture of himself with mother Nargis Dutt to remember her on her 40th death anniversary. Dutt wrote an emotional caption with a touching picture posted on Instagram. “No day goes when I don’t miss you ma!” The actor wrote.

He died on May 3, 1981, after an almost year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Since Sanjay Dutt made his Bollywood debut four days after Nargis died, the actor never spoke about his mother and the impact it would have on his life. In fact, Sanjay Dutt’s Instagram is also replete with photographs and posts about his parents Nargis and Sunil Dutt.

Only last month, the actor shared a romantic photo of the late couple, stating that it would be their 63rd wedding anniversary. “You both taught me the real meaning of love. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad, ”wrote Sanjay Dutt with the photo.

In a career of three decades, Nargis Dutt, one of the greatest acting talents of the country, gave hits like Mother India, Raat aur Din, Shree 420, Barsaat, Andaz, Jogan, Awara, Dewar and Chori Chori. She was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 1980.

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt was last seen in Torbaaz and Mahesh Bhatt-director Sadak 2. The actor’s upcoming projects include Yash-star KGF2 and YRF-backed Shamshera with Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor.
