We have the first trailer One night in miami. Amazon is releasing the film, which is a feature directorial debut from Oscar winner Regina King (If beal street can talk, Janitor). There is a clear hope that this will be an awards season favorite, and it is easy to see why. It is based on the award-winning play of the same name by Kemp Powers. It also features icons such as Malcolm X, Sam Cook, Jim Brown and Muhammad Ali crossing paths on a deadly night. According to the studio, it is “a fictionalized account inspired by the historical night these four formidable figures spent together.” As we can see, history and imagination make quite a mixture in this case.
The trailer shows us Cassius Clay (Ellie Gore), Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), Sam Cook (Leslie Odom Jr.) and Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) gathering together in celebration. Cassius has become the world’s only heavyweight champion, and this is more than enough reason to venture out for a night on the town. We get a little glimpse of each respective icon doing what they do best, whether it inspires boxing, football, singing or cultural change. Even though it is imaginaryly taken on the night in question, it appears in an authentic form on each of these great celebrities.
The cast also includes Joaquina Calucango (Chained to life), Nicolette Robinson (matter), Beau Bridge (Fantastic Baker Boys) And Lance Radic (John wick). Kemp Powers authored the screenplay. The film is produced by Jess Wu Calder, Keith Calder and Jodie Klein. Amazon, citing global rights to the film back in July, indicated that they had great confidence in what Regina King managed to do behind the camera. Regina King The front of the screen has been on a roll in recent years. King has made four Emmy wins since 2019 and five nominations to her name, to go along with her Best Supporting Actress Oscar win in 2019. Now, she is expanding the scope she can fulfill.
