Earlier, announcing that he had donated to buy oxygen supplies, Pat shared in a long post, “India is a country that I have loved for years and the people here are the warmest and kindest Found what I have ever done. To know that many people are tormenting me at the moment. “
The Australian cricketer also addressed the controversy over IPL matches being held at such a delicate time in the country and further wrote, “There has been a lot of discussion here on whether it is appropriate to continue the IPL while the Kovid-19 transition rate Is so much. I am advised that the Government of India is of the view that while playing IPL the population remains in lockdown and provides some hours of enjoyment and relief every day in a difficult time for the country. As players, we have found a platform that allows us to reach millions of people we can use for good. With this in mind, I have contributed to the PM Cars Fund to purchase oxygen supplies specifically for hospitals in India. I encourage my fellow IPL players and anyone who has been touched by India’s passion and generosity to contribute. I will close it with 50, 000 dollars. “
“Sometimes it is easy to feel helpless in this way. I have definitely felt late. But I hope that this public appeal can all of us put our feelings into action which will bring light to the lives of the people. I know that my donation is not much in the grand scheme of things, but I hope it makes a difference, ”Pat Cummins wrote as he concluded his note.
