Actor Allu Arjun is the latest celebrity in the Telugu film industry to have tested positive during the second wave of coronovirus. On Wednesday, he informed his fans that he was undergoing treatment for the virus and was staying home. He also urged his fans and well-wishers not to worry about his health.
A source told Indianexpress.com, “Four days ago, the film’s crew shot an action sequence for two days in Yusufguda. And the crew had planned to shoot for another two days on a different set. However, filming has been stopped after Allu Arjun tested positive for Kovid-19 on Tuesday. “
The filmmakers had also decided to keep the production running with safety precautions, as the second wave of coronavirus intensified, causing the government to face fresh lockdown restrictions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Seeing that there were still large parts to shoot, the filmmakers decided to soldier on with the available resources. The Telugu Film Producers Council had earlier issued a new directive to filmmakers who wanted to shoot amidst the second wave of Kovid-19. The council had ordered that the size of the shooting party should not exceed 50 members.
Allu Arjun could have experienced mild symptoms such as throat pain and fever before he started shooting for the film. After which he tested the Kovid-19.
Allu Arjun’s health condition is set to upset Pushpa’s schedule. It is noteworthy that Malayalam actor Fahd Fasil also recently joined the set of Pushpa in Hyderabad. He is playing the main antagonist in the film, written and directed by Sukumar. Actress Rashmika Mandana is also camping in Hyderabad to shoot the film.
It is said that no other members of the cast and crew have yet tested positive for the virus.
Allu Arjun celebrated his birthday earlier this month. On the eve of his 38th birthday, the filmmakers organized a spectacular fan show to release Pushpa’s teaser. Allu Arjun played the role of a smuggler in the promotional video.
Pushpa marked Allu Arjun’s reunion with director Sukumar and composer Devi Sri Prasad. The trio has previously given two blockbuster films: Arya and Arya 2.
Pushpa is scheduled to hit theaters on August 13.
