Prince Philip, 99, Hospitalized in London After "Feeling Unwell"

According to a statement from Buckingham Palace, the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital on the evening of Tuesday, 16 February. However, the palace’s message suggests that Philip’s accession is a precautionary measure, on the advice of his doctor. He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days of observation and rest.

Shortly after the news was released, NBC News Royal Commentator Camilla Timoney Tweeted Philip’s condition “is not related to Kovid. He left without being told. The queen remains in Windsor Castle.”

Queen Elizabeth IIBuckingham Palace said in a statement, “The husband – who retired from royal duties in 2017, was admitted to the hospital in 2019 for observation and treatment in relation to the former current situation.” Four days later, on 24 December, he was discharged before the Christmas holiday and left for Sandringham. As Mahal shared, “His Royal Highness wishes to thank all those who sent their best wishes.”
