Disney Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have had to find creative ways to ride the Monorail since the Resort reopened on July 19, 2021. As the Resort welcomed Guests, the Monorail station remained closed after lengthy construction to the front of Disney’s Polynesian Resort as well as the Monorail platform itself.
But today, September 5, 2021, it looks as though Guests are boarding the world-famous “attraction” and getting back to business!
Polynesian Monorail Line FINALLY Reopens to Guests
For the past few months, Guests at the Deluxe Resort have been either walking to the Ticket and Transportation Center to board the Monorail line or using the walkways to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to hop aboard Disney’s Monorail. While they have access to the ferry boats alongside the back of the Resort, the Monorail is a much-preferred form of transportation to get to Magic Kingdom Park.
After much construction, it looks as though the Monorail line is once again open, and we were sent photos of security Cast Members ready to welcome them aboard! Security screenings prior to boarding have been reactivated, and the Monorail line continues to be a secure line.
Guests were spotted walking to the platform, ready to start an early morning either at the Parks or visiting another Resort for a meal. This reopening of a transportation element at Disney’s Polynesian marks another milestone in the refurbishment of this beloved Resort.
The newly rethemed Moana rooms are nearing completion, and the Great Ceremonial House’s front looks pretty amazing. While construction isn’t complete quite yet, we’re glad to see regular operations continuing at the Monorail line.
