Netflix’s The Old Guard Final Trailer Has Charlize Theron in the Fight of a Lifetime
Netflix has released a new trailer for this Old guard. The summer has been deeply lacking in blockbusters, largely due to the ongoing movie theater closures, leaving whatever movies we air as a streaming option. Fortunately, Netflix has stepped in to deliver a big-budget comic book adaptation starring Charlize Theron to help fill the void. Based on this latest trailer, at the very least, it seems they are not pulling any punch.
Kick with trailer Charlize Theron Getting into a unique confrontation, explaining that he, as well as the person he kidnapped, is immortal. Then we find that a group of these immortal beings have been fighting important battles with each other for hundreds of years. Then we get real flesh on these bones, which sees a mysterious organization of the group’s existence, seeking to capture them. It quickly turns into a bullet-filled, violent spectacle.
The Netflix film is based on the acclaimed graphic novel of the same name by Greg Rakka, who also wrote the screenplay. Gina Prince-Bytewood (Love and basketball, Beyond the lights) Is on the director’s chair. Netflix is billing the adaptation as “a gritty, earthy, action-packed story that takes forever as hard as it looks.” The cast also includes Kiki Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, van Veronica Ngo, along with Matthias Schnaerts and Chiwetel Ezofor. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Charlize Theron, AJ Dix, Beth Kono and Mark Evans are the producers of the project.
Comic book movies are the biggest thing in Hollywood right now, but Marvel and DC are closed to Disney and Warner Bros. Rival studios need to look elsewhere. In this case, Netflix is turning to image comics. Recent comic adaptations outside of Marvel and DC have met with mixed results with Vin Diesel GoryValiant failed to connect with critics earlier this year, based on Valiant’s long-running series.
Old guard Kendra (Charlize Theron) on Andy, who leads a secret group of immortal traders. They are gifted with a strange inability to die and have fought for centuries to protect the mortal world. However, when the team is recruited to take them on an emergency mission, their unique abilities are exposed. Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest member of the team, must help the group eliminate this new threat, which in some way necessarily seeks to replicate and demonetize its power.
It is worth noting that the streaming service’s latest comic book adaptation, The American Last Days of American CrimeDidn’t go so well, as the film earned an extremely rare 0 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
