Veteran actor Neena Gupta has appeared on Vikas Bahl’s upcoming directorial film Goodbye and will be seen playing the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in the drama. Goodbye, as a slice-of-life film centered around a funeral, also stars Telugu star Rashmi Mandana.
The film will see Gupta and Bachchan share screen space for the first time. Sharing her reason for doing goodbye, Neena Gupta said that she was immediately impressed by the script that Vikas narrated. The actor also mentioned that he was excited about working with Bachchan.
“When Vikas narrated the film to me, I was very happy. It is a wonderful script and nobody thinks of anything, when the script is this exciting. Even the role is beautifully written and I am very excited to share the screen space with Mr. Bachchan. “It is a dream come true for me and I am very happy about it,” Gupta said in a statement.
Bachchan’s hobby for Gupta’s craft was made public in 2018 when he sent a hand-written note praising his performance in Badhai Ho. Goodbye, a fine co-production, is produced by Balaji Telefilms and Reliance Entertainment.
The Muhurta shot of the film took place in Mumbai on 1 April. Rashmika Mandana started shooting for the film on the same day. Bachchan appeared in the shooting on 4 April. Goodbye marked the reunion of Vikas Bahl and Ekta Kapoor, who have collaborated like earlier films Lootera and Udta Punjab.
