The trailer of the Sanjay Gupta-directed crime thriller Mumbai Saga is out. The film, set in the 1980s and 90s, leads the adaptation of Bombay to Mumbai. It stars stars such as John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Amol Gupte, Prateek Babbar, Gulshan Grover and Rohit Roy.

In the trailer of Mumbai Saga, John Abraham’s character Amartya Rao has only one goal in life – to rule the city. He does not think twice before killing, and there is no one who can stop him. But it is not easy for Emraan Hashmi to ignore his every move with the police. Now, who will win between a deadly don and a staunch cop remains to be seen. However, from the trailer, the Mumbai Saga sounds like any other gangster film. You might not even remember the song ‘Ganapati’ because ‘Hero’ kicks some punches and the police chase him. It is customary to meet a good cop for the last meeting before a big blow-up. In other words, if you have a gangster drama from this school of thought, you’ve seen them all.

Prior to releasing the trailer, John Abraham shared his character’s poster on Instagram, where he described the film as “the one who wants RULE at all costs vs. the one who wants to stop it, no matter what #MumbaiSaga begins March 19th in theaters. “

The teaser of Mumbai Saga first introduced John as a gangster who “rose from the streets of Bombay to rule Mumbai” while Imran was a cop who stopped his character, Amartya Rao For “arose from the ghetto of Bombay”.

The Mumbai Saga was initially scheduled to be released in June 2020, but after the cinema hall was closed during the epidemic, the release was delayed. There was also speculation that the producers were considering a digital release. Gupta, however, believed that his gangster saga is best viewed on 70mm screens. He wrote on Twitter, “And the more we see it and experience it every day, the more convinced we are to need THEATERS. #MumbaiSaga

Claiming that Mumbai Saga is his most ambitious film till date, Gupta said in a statement, “After 25 years, 17 films I had to give my audience something bigger and better. Mumbai Saga is by far my most ambitious film that needed a visionary producer. And I am grateful to Bhushan Kumar for his trust and confidence in him. This is a story that needs to be told on screen. “

Produced by T-Series and White Feather Films, Mumbai Saga is slated for release on 19 March.
