Superstar Mohanlal is scheduled to begin shooting for his directorial debut, Burrows, in March, announced by cinematographer-filmmaker Santosh Sivan on Sunday.
The film is billed as a big-budget 3D fantasy project and will reportedly feature an international cast, with actors from Spain, Portugal, Ghana and the US.

Sivan wrote on Twitter and started an “early” Burrows in March with Mohanlal with director “S Kursi”. The film is written by director Jijo Punno, known in his 1984 Malayalam fantasy film, My Dear Kutichthan, in Hindi as Chota Chetan.
In October last year, the 57-year-old cinematographer announced his involvement in the project. Sivan has shot for acclaimed films like Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se, Ravana and Rajinikanth’s 2020 action drama Durbar.
With two icons. Sivan tweeted, showcasing South Indian talent for directing Baros Mohan Lal’s debut film internationally with an outstanding cast to assist in Zero Punnoj’s screenplay (My Dear Kuttichathan).
The 60-year-old Mohanlal is currently appearing on Amazon Prime Video in Drishyam 2. In the sequel directed by Jethu Joseph, Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal, is under suspicion over the conflict and the murder of the son of his family’s Inspector General of Police.
