With a runtime of four hours, Zack Snyder’s Justice League Snyder’s planned five-film arc at the DCEU is filled with characters. One of the main characters who was missing was Green Lantern. In an interview with the Lightcast podcast, Harry Lenix, who plays the Martian Manhunter J’None Jonze in the film, revealed that his scene in the film was originally intended to include the Green Lantern, John Stewart.
“With me everyone knew I was going to be in it. It was going to be the Martian Manhunter and John Stewart. The movie had Jeannon Johns and John Stewart, as it were, but then they made it out. That part. So I later, like October, went on to do scenes with Ben Affleck. [Snyder] Just like Martian Manhunter was doing, which I thought was fun. He said something to the effect that he felt there was a good way to tie it up, the information that should be kept there is out… We know that the Green Lantern will remain in the second part of the franchise. As DCEU. Hey dude, I’m right there. It is not uncommon where sometimes one actor has to fill in for another actor, this is to a large extent. “
In the past, Zach Snyder also confirmed that his original plan was to feature three black superheroes, actors Ray Fisher Cyborg, The Martian Manhunter, and John Stewart as Green Lantern. Unfortunately, the studio had other plans for the Green Lantern franchise and forced Sneider to pull out of his story. In a previous interview, the filmmaker revealed that things got so heated over the inclusion of John Stewart that he left the project.
“I said if they try to take over I’ll leave.” [the scene with Green Lantern] outside. And I felt bad. The truth is that I didn’t want the fans not to have the film, just based on a stand I was going to take … and the Green Lantern was John Stewart. And he was also a part of it. I was like, I don’t want to have a person of color in this film. I am not going to do it. And, but still, but it seemed to me that Harry Lenix had a Martian Manhunter at the end, it was okay. “
The Sneader Cut features Batman with Ben Affleck, Wonder Woman as Gail Gadot, Superman as Henry Cavill, Lois Lane as Amy Adams, Aquaman as Jackson Momoa, The Flash as Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg as the cast, encompassing the ensemble as Jeremy Iron. Alfred Pennyworth as Dionne Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Syrian Hinds as Stephenvenlf, Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthore and JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
