Malayalam film stars voted in the Kerala assembly elections on Tuesday. Actor Mammootty and his wife Sulfath cast their votes. COVID-19 security guidelines went out the window as soon as the 69-year-old superstar went to the polling station. The eagerness of fans and media to get a glimpse of the stars caused a lot of uproar, causing police officers to lose their cool over the crowd.
However, Mammootty continued his work, as he showed his fingers to the media, encouraging the public to exercise their democratic rights. Apart from him, many other film personalities also enthusiastically shared pictures of his inked finger on social media and urged their followers not to waste their votes.
Prithviraj Sukumaran captured a picture showing indelible ink on his finger. So did his wife and producer Supriya Menon also share a photo of his index finger on his Instagram page.
Actors Unni Mukundan, Saubin Shahir, Jayasuriya, Tovino Thomas and Kalidas Jayaram also voted and encouraged their fans to do the same.
