Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former rocket scientist from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Head of ISRO’s cryogenics department, he was falsely accused of espionage and was arrested in 1994.
The film’s trailer, released last week, stars Nambi Narayanan as an ‘arrogant genius’ who wants to put India on the map when it comes to the commercial satellite market. The trailer shows how his patriotism became his downfall and he was arrested for selling plans for India’s space program overseas.
Rocket: The Nambi Effect has been shot simultaneously in Tamil, Hindi and English. It will also be released in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. While Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan presents himself as a guest in the Hindi and English versions, Suriya will appear as himself in the Tamil section.
