Simbu released the first look of Mannadu on Thursday. The poster depicts the actor on his knees, performing prayers in the midst of a fierce riot. And the caption on the poster reads, “Stand for what is right even if it means standing alone.”

Simbu also announced that a new poster revealing his character from the film will be released tomorrow.

Simbu plays the role of Abdul Khalik in Mannadu, written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Looking at the poster, it is reasonable to assume that the film is involved in communal politics with political parties.

Simbu recently started shooting for Mannadu in Puducherry. The project faced many challenges before going on floors. One of the major problems in the progress of the project was Simbu’s witnessing relationship with producer Suresh Kamachi. Accusing Simbu of lack of professionalism, Suresh had made a public announcement that he would film with a different actor in the lead role.

After a public spat, Simbu Suresh managed to iron out differences with Kamachi. And later, he retreated into the film.

The shooting takes place following the COVID-19 security protocol. Also, the filmmakers enlist the services of an Ayurvedic doctor who is tasked with improving the immunity of the film’s cast and crew.

Mannoud also stars SJ Surya, SA Chandrasekhar, Manoj Bhartiraja, Daniel Pope, YG Mahendran, Karunakaran and Premgi Aman.
