Avengers Campus opened at Disney California Adventure Park on June 4 and the crowds were quick to line up to get into the new area. Opening weekend lines showed crowds that wound through over half of the park and many Guests waited upwards of five hours to get in. However, that seems to be a short-lived phenomenon.
In the less than two weeks Avengers Campus has been open, the wait to get into the land has gone from hours to virtually nonexistent. The Cali Bae AKA Five Fires (@thecalibae) shared his recent experience visiting the Campus.
Last two days Avengers Campus has been dropping the standby line and you can enter the land with no wait. I love that idea as it makes the experience more of a streamline than 3-4 hour standby wait in this heat. It’s really also coming to life more as Loki outfit will keep changing as the show on disney plus keeps changing! The land is so alive and ever changing! I love it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This drop in the Avenger Campus standby queue wait time most likely has to do with the fact that the land no longer has to be kept at such a limited capacity. As of June 15, the State of California no longer mandates capacity restrictions for places like Disneyland and other theme parks.
While Disneyland is not operating at full capacity at this time, and Avengers Campus itself is still limiting capacity to an extent, the land is not being held to nearly as strict of a capacity limit as before, and many more Guests are able to freely enter the land.
Guests visiting Disneyland Resort have been experiencing little to no wait to get into the new land. Some say that they were quoted a 45-60 minute wait and then waited less than 10 minutes to get into Avengers Campus, while others have experience being able to stroll into the land in the evening hours (or even earlier) quite easily.
A Boarding Group is still required to ride WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, but that will most likely stay in place for the foreseeable future, much like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. However, now that rides also able to fully operate without restrictions, more people will be able to ride the new attraction as well, as Disney can board more Guests and attractions do not have to limit capacity.
Even though Avengers Campus is no longer operating with capacity limits, there is still only one entrance that Guests can use to enter the area. The entrance to Avengers Campus is found next to the Cars Land entrance, across from the winery area. Guests may exit the new area through the entrance or by Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!.
Hopefully, the shift in wait times continues as Disneyland Resort continues to increase capacity for summer crowds that are sure to want to visit. Disneyland has not shared exactly what capacity the California theme parks are operating at, but capacity is gradually increasing, and more theme park reservations continue to become available over the next several weeks.
