Lana Del Rey Defends Album Cover: "There Are People of Color on This"

Lana Del Rey Reflecting on her recent album-cover reveal.

The singer took to Instagram on Sunday 10 January and shared the artwork for her much awaited upcoming album Chemtrails at Country Club.

“There’s always turmoil and turmoil and there’s always beautiful music in between it,” she captioned the post. “Debut of his new album Chemistry at Country Club.”

Shortly after showing the cover image of the star and a group of women gathering around an outdoor table, Lana added a comment to defend the shot from potential criticism.

“I also want to say that everything is going on this year!” The 35-year-old Grammy-nominated artist wrote. “And no, that was not the intention — these are my best friends, because you are asking today. And damn it! This is when it comes to my amazing friends and this cover yes on this record picture of color. People are and that’s all I’m gonna say about that but thanks.

She went on to name a few women who appear on the cover with her, calling the group a “beautiful mix of everything.”
