The Anti-Tobacco Cell and Health Department of the state of Karnataka has objected to the scenes showing Yash having a cigarette and smoking in the recently released teaser of KGF Chapter 2.
Officials of The Karnataka State Anti-Tobacco Cell said that since the actors appeared to be smoking cigarettes, Section 5 of cigarettes and other tobacco products has been violated (prohibition of advertising and trade and commerce, production, supply and distribution ), Decided to remove the teaser from the 2003 online platform.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Health Department has also appealed to actor Yash, playing the lead role in KGF 2, to remove the teaser and problematic scenes from the film. The teaser depicts a scene where Yash flew a line of jeeps from a machine gun and lighted a cigarette using a red-hot gun barrel.
The Minister of Health and Medical Education of Karnataka, Dr. K. Sudhakar said, “Cinema star Yash is in social work, and I admire him. The Health Department has made an appeal to him about his upcoming film. But this is not a notice. I heard that there is a smoking scene in the film and the department has asked him to remove that scene. His fan club has many youth, and this applies to all films. “
In the teaser of KGF Chapter 2, a letter has been sent to the film’s director Prashant Neel, actor Yash and producer Vijay Kiragandur objecting to the visuals. According to the notice, it is mandatory to display the “Smoking is harmful to health” warning on the screen. But the teaser does not contain a warning.
