Karnan song Kandaa Vara Sollunga: Dhanush, Mari Selvaraj, Santhosh Narayanan give us goosebumps

The first song Kanda Var Solanga of the upcoming film Karnan was released on Thursday. The folk numbers composed by Santosh Narayanan have influenced members and fans of the Tamil film industry alike.

The song has been penned by Mary Selvaraj, who helmed the project. Talk about the legend of the film’s protagonist Karnan, Kanda Vara Sollunga, or ‘Ask him to come here, if you see him’. The song talks about the hero’s kindness, generosity and his heroism on the battlefield. In a way, the song blurs the lines between Karan, the protagonist of this film, and Karna of the Mahabharata.

The intensity of the video is modified by choreography. It showcases a band of folk musicians, led by Santosh Narayanan, with their rhythmic musical instruments. Apart from the composition, Santosh has also sung the song with Kidakkuzi Mariammal, which adds punch to every word of the song. In the video, we see an artist’s Karna portrait of Dhanush on a wall using a torch.

The song has attracted a lot of love from Tamil celebrities. “Awesome,” said Karthik Subbaraj.

“Great sun! Kudos to the entire team (Psych), ”said director Selvaraghavan.

Fans are also praising the song on social media.

Produced by Kalapuli S Thanu, Karnan will open in theaters on April 9, 2021. The film also stars supporting actors Rajisha Vijaya, Laxmipriya Chandramouli, Gauri Kishan, Lal and Yogi Babu.
