Kannada filmmaker Naveen dies of Covid-19 at 36

Odeya’s director Naveen is the latest member of the Kannada film fraternity to fall victim to the devastating second wave of Kannada virus. The 36-year-old filmmaker recently died in his hometown center when he tested positive for the Kovid-19 infection.

Naveen made his debut as a director with Onday in 2011. The film featured Appu Venkatesh and Revanna in the lead roles.

Apart from Naveen, several well-known personalities of the show business in Karnataka succumbed to Kovid-19, including veteran actor Hulivan Gangadharaya, poster designer and director Mastan and actor-producer Dr. Includes DS Maninath. High-profile producer Ramu also died last week due to Kovid-19. His death sent a shock wave to the Kannada film industry. He had produced some of Sandalwood’s biggest mainstream blockbusters and collaborated with most of the top stars.

The second wave of coronavirus is killing thousands of people across the country every day. The lives of many promising filmmakers have been cut off by the epidemic. Last week, top Tamil director and cinematographer KV Anand also died of complications related to Kovid-19. He died after the death of veteran filmmaker Thamira.
