This is part of the story Election 2020, Voting in November and then CNET’s coverage.

John Ossoff, a 33-year-old Democrat, won the by-election against Georgia Sen. David Perdue won the youngest senator-elect in 1973 after 30-year-old Joe Biden on Tuesday night. He is also the first millennium senator, the year to fall between 1981 and 1996 – Ossoff was born in 1987, if you consider birth to be a millennium. This means he grew up when the youth lived a lot more online than in previous years, and his Twitter history reflects this.

Since Ossoff’s victory over Republicans, and even earlier, people have been digging through his Twitter history. But instead of finding the kind of slop and jokes that hovering over the musician John “Bean Dad” Roderick Recently, Ossoff’s Twitter spies received more pop-culture-themed tweets. A former investigative journalist outsells Ausoff, who is a fan of Star Wars, anime, and the band Imagine Dragons, among other things.

Back in 2012, Ossoff, 25, wondered what the plot of the then Star Wars trilogy would be. He reveals that he is not just a Surface fan citing Imperial Grand Admiral Thron, but a character identifying Luke and Leia’s name. (Maybe Ossoff was just a Galactic prophet – ever since mentioned MandalorianCan play a role in Star Wars: Ahosa.)

“Will it be the Throne Trilogy?” Osfo wondered.

Nearly a decade after the tweet, as Osfo rose to fame, Star Wars fans took note.

“This guy is about to become a US senator,” one wrote. “Dude knows about Grand Admiral Thran. Let’s go GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”

Another wrote, “An idiot in the Senate !!!”

Also in 2012, Ossoff tweeted in the music publication Pitchfork that he was “waiting for your writeup of the new Imagine Dragons album,” leading a Twitter user to crack, “Hmm you’re already in the government’s honor I had mixed feelings about pouring. “

Ossoff’s partner Georgian Josie Duffy Rice stated that the senator-elect has a personal relationship with the band.

“Lolol as this tweet spreads some context here that John graduated high school with a drummer from Imagine Dragons. Daniel Plowman!” She wrote. “It sounds like a set-up for a joke but it’s true.”

Pitchfork’s music review editor wrote back Wednesday to apologize for never reviewing the album under consideration.

Jeremy D. Larsen wrote, “Mr. Osoff, sir, I’m sorry that we never wrote the new Imagine Dragons album.” “It’s hard to explain, but during this era of the site, we thought it would say ‘more’ about the album when we didn’t review it? Does it make sense? Good luck with everything.”

Other Ausoff tweets showed that he had a sense of humor and understood internet slang. He tweeted “n00b 4 life” in 2014, and recently self-referenced that tweet in response to a tweet from his fellow senator-elect, the Rev. Rafael Warnock.

Ossoff’s response to Warnock in 2020:

He is also familiar with the play Grand Theft Auto 3, written in 2014, a definitive song, “immediately reminds me of a radio in GTA3.”

He also appears to be an anime fan, sharing a link to the video of the anime version of Les Miserables.

And even in 2012, he was smart enough to know that the Internet is forever, writing, “I was going to link to a Lil Jon song, but I don’t want anyone to ask that I be profane in 15 years Why connect. “

Osoff and Warnock will be sworn in as Georgia’s newest senators sometime soon, but the date is still up in the air and depends on when the state certifies its election results.
