Encouraged by the success of Drishyam 2, director Jethu Joseph is now open to the idea of continuing the Drishyam franchise. He is no longer reluctant to trace the prediction of Georgekutty and his family. He said that all he needs to do is to find a good plot point, enough to move on to the third installment of the franchise. “Not now, but if I find one thread enough to explore, then I will start developing it. If I do not, it will be a crime. “Jethu told The Quint to be asked about the possibility of another sequel.
Earlier, Jethu said that he was nervous about the idea of making the sequel to the 2013 crime thriller, which became a worldwide hit. His family advised him to explain clearly about a follow-up film.
“I thought there was no chance for a sequel, even everyone was asking for it,” he told indianexpress.com earlier. “I thought what would be the reaction of the society to that crime?” Georgekutty has been accused of a crime and now people are feeling that there is something (wrong) about it. There is no smoke without fire, right? People start gossiping. “
But, seven years later, he came out with a sequel that has satisfied most critics and fans alike.
Drishyam 2 was released last week directly on Amazon Prime Video. Jethu retains the main star cast of Drishium for the sequel. Apart from Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hasan, Esther Anil, Asha Sarath and Siddiqui reprise their roles from the first film.
Jethu is now expected to direct Venkatesh in the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2.
