JBL has unveiled its latest all-in-one soundbar. CES 2020, JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam, which includes Wi-Fi streaming Amazon MRM And fake Dolby atmos effect.

The soundbar uses JBL-owned beam-making technology – MultiBeam – that surrounds your side walls, offering virtual Dolby Atmos for height effects (it lacks height speakers). It uses an “onboard” subwoofer with four passive radiators for “deep and punchy bass”.

Bar 5.0 provides voice control through both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, although it lacks an onboard assistant. Interestingly, JBL says that Bar 5.0 will be compatible with Multibeam Amazon’s Multi Room Music To create a contract It enables users to group Echo The only other non-Amazon product that speaks together and supports it is the Polk Command Bar. Apart from this, Apple Airplay 2, Chromecast built-in and Bluetooth have been provided in the soundbar.

JBL Bar 5.0 follows the excellent JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass that came out last year and offered excellent sound for the money. Given that the new bar lacks a sub, I expect the Deep Bass model to be better, especially with movies.

The JBL Bar 5.0 Multibeam will be available in spring 2021 for $ 400.
