The main event at UFC Fight Night 176 is a heavyweight bout with veteran fighter Alastair Overim and rising talent Augusto Sakoi. Overim, age 40 with a long professional record of 46 wins and 18 defeats, has been an MMA fighter for over two decades and has been signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship since 2011. Overim is considered one of the most well-rounded veterans. In the UFC, both of them are known for their powerful leg strikes, pairing up with superb bowling skills during the match.
Overtime’s rival is Agusto Sakai, a relative newcomer to the UFC. The 29-year-old Brazilian fighter signed the league in 2018 with a professional record of 15–1 and has won all four of his matches since. Sakai is currently on a six-win streak (one that had begun before he joined the UFC), while Alastair Overim has won three of his six matches in the same timeframe, with his most in May. The recent match is also included. UFC Fight Night 176 is Sakai’s toughest challenge so far, with Overim having almost every “on paper” advantage as well as being the current favorite to win.
