How to Make Your Own Glambot At Home Thanks to E!’s Lilliana Vazquez

These days, maybe it looks like you’ve been in the sweatpaint for six weeks straight – or maybe it’s eight?

Whatever it is, E! news’ Lilianna Vasquez Here’s a reason for you to celebrate Formal Friday and even thank her DIY Glumbot. This is right, The infamous Gambot has seen just about every red carpet-Oscar! Golden Globes! People’s Choice Awards – Now available at home. All you need is packing your phone, a small box, scissors, peanuts and duct tape. After all, as Lilliana said, “What is a DIY without some duct tape?”

So MacGyvers, here’s how it works: First, you’re going to cut your box in half to make a cradle to fit your phone. “One thing that’s really important to remember here,” Lilliana explains in a step-by-step video above, “Do you want the top of your cut box to hit just below the camera on your phone.” Otherwise, no one is going to look as beautiful as you can see in that Jovani gown.

Next, you will want to make sure that your phone does not start sliding around mid-shoot. Take some cushioning — which put packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or any foam — and, advises Lilliana, “just lock them in the box to make some cushioning.”

From there, you are ready to hang your DIY tool. While Lilliana used a ratchet tie-down strap found in her garage, she says an old addition to your bathtub belt or tights will do the trick. Once set, be sure to install a light on the back of your glombot to guarantee it captures all your good angles.

Now, glam up – that dress is worth seeing! You’re – and you’re ready to hit the record. “You don’t forget,” says Lilliana, “You want to record in slow motion.” Drop the phone in the box, move away and just swing slowly to create that globot effect. “

Oh, and remember to have fun with it! “Like nobody’s watching,” he says. “You go to the carpet at the Oscars or Met Gala and just work.”
