The PS4 has stolen the spotlight from the PS3, and will not go unnoticed before the PS5. This is still no reason to dig out your PS3 console or throw out your controllers. For gamers who enjoy playing on their PC, you can still make full use of your PS3 controllers.
Grab your controller, the PC to which you want to connect it with a mini-USB cable, and we’ll walk you through the process.
Part 1: Update Windows Driver and .NET Framework
Phase 1: First, check your currently installed drivers by launching command prompt. Once it opened. type Vehicle Driver And press Enter Key.

step 3: Connect your PlayStation 3 controller to your PC using a mini USB cable (aka Mini Type-B). They usually have a USB-A connector on the PC side but you can find the cable with a USB-C connector on Amazon. Windows should start installing the initial drivers when you connect the cable.
Part 2: Download and install ScpToolkit and drivers
Phase 1: Go to the official ScpToolkit download thread and click on the green link to download the latest stable release. You will see the installer – ScpToolkit_Setup.exe – Also pack source code in archives. If you want to tinker with the code, grab 7-Zip or similar tool to extract the files.
stage 2: Locate and launch the downloaded installer as an administrator.
step 3: Once installed, ScpToolkit prompts you to run a separate driver installer. If you don’t see this prompt, search and select “Scp” ScpToolkit Driver Installer. On Windows 10, it can be located under the Start menu recently added.
step 4: With him ScpToolkit Driver Installer Moving, make sure all boxes are checked, including Force driver installation.
Step 5: Click the arrow on the box Choose DualShock 3 controller to install the option. On the resulting drop-down menu, find and select your DualShock 3 controller. If you plan to use the DualShock 4 or Bluetooth dongle to enable wireless play, select them as well.
Step 6: When you’re ready, click Install. All required files are installed and configured automatically. Do not panic, you see a load of pop-up windows on your screen – this is normal. Must see once DualShock 3 USB Driver Installed Message, you are good to go.
Step 7: Press Go out Button when installation is complete.
Your DualShock 3 is now plug-and-play, which means you can plug it in anytime and it should work on its own!
A few things to keep in mind: Since you’re technically using Xbox 360 drivers to interact with the PS3 controller, the game will likely display an Xbox control scheme. When a game wants you to “press X”, you’ll want to hit the square button instead.
Note: As of January 2018, ScpToolkit is no longer in active development. Future Windows updates may make this an ineffective solution. However, even now, it is still a viable option.
Part 3: Create a Profile and Change Settings
If you are very inclined, you can fix your PS3 controller through the various applications included with ScpToolkit.
Phase 1: “Changeable” ScpToolkit Profile Manager Not installed by default. To get this feature, run the installer again to select this tool and “modify” your current installation. Then you will see a desktop shortcut and ScpToolkit Profile Manager added to ScpToolkit Folder on the Start menu.
After you successfully complete that step, you can personalize button mappings and switch them quickly. You can also map keyboard and mouse commands.
stage 2: Double-click on the ScpToolkit Settings Manager shortcut that will appear on your desktop. You can also do this inside the ScpToolkit folder located on the Start menu. Once you double-click, you can adjust your thumbstick sensitivity, rumble, controller latency, and LED display, along with many other advanced options.
Troubleshooting for windows 10
When you try your hand at Windows 10 troubleshooting, you are bound to overcome many different obstacles in your operating system, especially when you try to connect special controls to your PC. Although Microsoft has a number of operating systems that adequately support Xbox accessories and Xbox Live environments, older versions of Sony hardware are more complex when it comes to adding this more modern technology.
Keep in mind that you may face some obstacles and challenges during the installation process, even the SculptToKit that helps prevent most problems. Conversely, you can allow driver installs. We highly recommend that whatever you do, you should regularly back up all your data. Doing so will save a copy of your data from which you can easily restore it if you run into a situation where you lose it.
Phase 1: Choose Start Or hit the windows key.

Step 9: Choose Startup settings. Your system will restart.
Step 10: After your system restarts you will see another menu of options. To find out Disable driver signature enforcement, Then press the F7 key to restart your PC one last time.
Step 11: When your system starts again, go through the instructions above and reinstall and configure ScpToolkit.
