On this week’s FOUND podcast, we sat down with Kathy Hunun, co-founder and President of Dandelion. Kathy introduced the idea for Dandelion while working on Google X, which tackles some of the world’s most intractable problems, and makes them trackable through the application of technology. Kathy felt that exploiting geothermal energy is one way to create an entirely new category of sustainable energy on a large scale in markets where it makes the most sense over other green energy options.
Kathy told all of us how she ended up with her dream job at X, and then decided to take her leap from the ground to look for a clear solution to building her own company. She also tells how to deal with some of the world’s smartest people in Google’s moon division despite dealing with some natural Importer Syndrome, but also because of her natural inclination to believe in any challenge. Can solve, which she is facing. A combination of dedication and learning.
We also asked Kathy about how the dandelion business went, making difficult decisions to change the core element of being late enough in the game, after realizing that the current strategy was not working. When she was scaling a mountain, her tough phone literally came – it’s harder to find something supernatural than that.
We hope you enjoy our full conversation with Kathy, which you can find below, or can be found in the Apple Podcast, on Spotify, on the Google Podcast, or in the Podcast App of your choice.
