Here’s How to Use Your Android Smartphone to Stream Xbox Games
Android vs. iOS is a passionate battlefield, and both platforms have a lot to offer their supporters. However, Android got a particularly big feather in its cap: the ability to stream and play Xbox games via the Internet, with no console required.
It sounds like a fantasy, but as of 15 September, it is absolutely reality. Android users, with a little help from a handy Bluetooth controller, are now able to play Xbox games through the wonders of cloud gaming. The recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Note 20 got early access to service, and with their larger screens and powerful hardware, they are perfect for the cloud gaming experience. But they are not the only Android devices that can play Xbox games. Here’s how you can play Xbox games on your Android smartphone.
What do you have to do to get started
There are a few things you will need to download Xbox games to your Android device. First of all, you will need a qualified Android device. Eligible devices are equipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher, and Bluetooth version 4.0 or higher. We tested it on many devices, and found that a relatively modern smartphone from midrange or higher should be able to withstand cloud gaming. Of course, more powerful devices would work better, but we got several games up and running without any issues on the Pixel 3A XL.
You also need a Bluetooth controller. Some games operate with touchscreen controls, but most require a controller. Microsoft’s Bluetooth Xbox controller is the best option for this, but any of our favorite controllers should work. We tested it with GameSir G4s and it worked perfectly. However, if you are concerned about compatibility issues, we recommend buying.
Finally, you will need a stable Wi-Fi connection. Cloud gaming uses game footage streamed through the Internet, so it is an extremely data-heavy process, and you need a good Internet connection to handle it. Wi-Fi is likely to be the best option for most, but some lucky people will be able to use a 5G connection to stream – but keep in mind that you’ll need unlimited data or a very high cap.
Once you get your smartphone, controller and Wi-Fi connection, we are ready to get started.
Sign up for xbox game pass
Next, you will need to sign up for an Xbox Game Pass. Now the service is open, you no longer need to sign-up to preview. Instead, simply subscribe to Xbox Games Pass at the last level. It will cost a total of $ 15 a month – the most expensive tier available, but it gives you access to absolutely everything, so if you have a PC, you can also access the entire library of Xbox games for Windows. Will find Well. Your first month will only cost $ 1, so you have a chance to find out if it is worth your money.
Download the Xbox Game Pass app, and start playing
Now that you are signed up, you will need to download the Xbox Game Pass app. Once downloaded, boot it and log in to the Microsoft account with which you applied.
Once you enter, you will be presented with a list of games to play – and this is a large list. You can swap between section, The console, And PC, And you can add the game to your Play Later list, as well as select the game to play now. To play the game, just select it from the list, and tap sport. After a few moments of loading – during which your stream is starting – you’ll be taken to your game. If your chosen game requires a controller, the app will warn you before starting, giving you a chance to connect to the controller. Also, if a particular game is a favorite, and you have storage space to store it, you can download a large portion of the game file to your device, which will make it easier to stream the game. Do this only if you have a particularly large storage space, as this is usually several GB of data.
