Hasbro, Disney’s officially licensed purveyor of Marvel and Star Wars toys, offers everything from 2020’s “most dangerous toy of the year”, the Mandalorian Darksaber to realistic poseable figurines in the famous Star Wars The Black Series action figure collection. Popular Black Series figures from the Star Wars galaxy include Luke Skywalker, Wedge Antilles, Boba Fett, Ahsoka Tano, Cad Bane, and more.

Now, the well-known toy company that has become famous for its Hasbro Pulse crowdfunding venture has taken things to another level entirely with its upcoming Grogu lightsaber.
Gizmodo’s i09 revealed a number of new Hasbro Star Wars products for kids, including the latest Lightsaber Squad addition, featuring none other than pop culture sensation, “Baby Yoda”.

i09’s description reads:
Hasbro’s Lightsaber Squad series is based on turning Star Wars characters into lightsaber hilts. It’s definitely weird, but kids would probably play with lightsabers even if they were covered in math homework, so why not? It’s like rubbing Baby Yoda aka Grogu’s tiny tummy makes him a deadly weapon!

The product is, as i09’s writer noted, “definitely weird”, and yet, oddly adorable — kind of like Grogu himself. It’s worth noting that Star Wars fans will also be able to add a Mando Lightsaber Squad blade to their collections soon. i09 shared:
Of course, where Baby Yoda goes, Din Djarin follows. I’m not sure why his lightsaber blade is yellow-orange, but this way you can see its full length. Both toys will be available shortly for $9.99 each.

You certainly can’t beat the price of these lightsabers — especially compared to the $199 Legacy Lightsaber Darksaber that can be found at the Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
Other Hasbro Star Wars products coming later this year include several new additions to the Mission Fleet series, including the Battle in the Badlands with Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) with her Gauntlet starfighter, and Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) with an Imperial TIE fighter.

Then, there’s the brand new Bounty Collection, which, as i09 pointed out, “seems to exist solely to produce cartoonishly adorable mini-figures of Grogu”. Below, you can see one of the sets in the upcoming toy series, featuring an adorable version of Grogu with his hover pram.

It’s not surprising to see Hasbro capitalizes on the overwhelming success of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s Mandalorian saga. The company has previously stated that Star Wars — The Mandalorian, in particular — helped them to remain afloat throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
