As the video progresses, Jeetendra recalls how he worked on a film called Didar-e-Yaar which took five years to complete but when it was released it was a big flop. “It bombed so badly. I had a loss of Rs 2.5 crore in those days. However, around the same time, the actor was shooting for Himmatwala with Raghuvendra Rao in Rajahmundry. Shot in just 42 days, the film proved to be the biggest hit of Jeetendra’s career.
“With the release of Himmatwala, I bounced back. I made so much money. I forget my loss. And life went on. Two things – Raghavendra Rao and Telugu brought me back to life again. Himmatwala was a successful success.
She also recalled when Raghuvendra Rao said that she would have to share screen space in Himmatwala with Sridevi, who was the top actress in the South film industry at the time.
He said, ‘I was very happy when he said that Sridevi was going next to me. I called Sridevi and Jaya Prada my bread and butter.
Jeetendra ended the conversation by saying that if he ever made Raghuvendra Rao’s film with Mahesh Babu, he would happily work in a Telugu film.
