Grand Theft Auto V was originally released in 2013, yet it remains one of the most popular, best-selling games today. As proof of its ongoing relevance, YouTube channel PlayStation Heaven has watched a video more than a million times that re-shows one of the GTA’s most memorable scenes between the characters Franklin and Lamar.

There is Twin Ritainment which uses real actors who voiced those characters in 2013: Sean Fontaine (Franklin) and Gerald “Slink” Johnson (Lamar). The video is a teaser for an online series called GTA V Real-Life Comparison, starring Slink, who compares the game’s Los Santos city to the city that inspired it from Los Angeles.

Warning: Graphic language in all the clips below.

Viewing the above clip with zero reference can prove this. This is a scene that has maintained internet fame within the GTA online community for years, thanks to “Yi Yi Donkey Haircut”. In fact, “Yi Yi Donkey Haircut” has its own address Your Memes and Urban Dictionary page.

The community has tickled and cast dubbing characters such as Darth Vader, Sabza and Snow White in the role of Lamar so that these characters can cash in on Franklin. Poor Franklin.

GTA V launched in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Eight years later and a PS4 / Xbox One, sales of the game exceeded 120 million units. Upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | The S version of the game, plus Rockstar’s continued work on GTA Online, will see that GTA V stays on ‘Keepin’ for even more years.
