The Hollywood film Godzilla vs Kong has earned Rs 46.58 crore at the Indian box office since its release on 24 March, despite being slow on the second weekend. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Hollywood tentpole has done a fabulous Rs 50 crore business.
“#GodzillaVsKong slowed down in Weekend 2 … Still, despite the # Covid19 status, the biz should cross the mark of 50 crore mark in the coming days … [Week 2] Venus 2.10 crore, Saturn 1.86 crore, Sun 2.55 crore. Total :: 46.58 crore nett. #BharatBiz All Editions, ”he wrote.
Directed by Adam Wingard, the film pits the king of demons and ‘the eighth wonder world’ against each other. Godzilla has gone mad for some reason and only Kong stands between him and the destruction of the world.
The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Sean Oguri, Ija Gonzalez, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Damien Chobir. It is written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein.
The growing COVID-19 cases in the country have not had a major impact on the business of Godzilla vs Kong, showing that viewers are ready to face an epidemic even for a big screen worthy experience.
Indianexpress.com read the film’s review, “If you needed a rock-solid reason to return to theaters, Godzilla vs. Kong would easily fit the bill. Wherever you see it, this monster film will probably sound awesome, but it is completely dazzling on the big screen with epic monster-on-monster action and thunderful, almost deafening, sound effects. “
