Fans Suddenly Want NEW Ahsoka Actress Following Latest Cast Announcement

What a week for the Star Wars galaxy.

As expectations and anticipation gear up for the arrival of new projects like The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucasfilm dropped another thermal detonator into the mix when it revealed that Anakin Skywalker turned Darth Vader actor, Hayden Christensen will appear in Ahsoka alongside Rosario Dawson. It’s an exciting team-up, for sure, with Skyguy and Snips back together, although in what capacity fans don’t know — in fact, the announcement was met with a call out for a new actress to play Ahsoka.

It seems forever ago that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced the live-action Ahsoka television show along with a plethora of other upcoming stories like the Lando series, and Star Wars: Acolyte from director Leslye Headland.

Next up in the Star Wars universe will be Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen’s The Book of Boba Fett from showrunner Robert Rodriguez this December. The new bounty hunter series will keep the Star Wars fandom pretty occupied until the release of the Obi-Wan Kenobi possibly next May, although an actual release date is yet to be confirmed.

The new series from Deborah Chow will reunite prequel trilogy actors Ewan McGregor and Christensen as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his disgraced former Padawan, Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader, respectively. The “rematch of the century” will likely go down in Star Wars history as an epic moment for the ongoing Skywalker saga.

And while apprentice and master will come together in Obi-Wan Kenobi, it seems Star Wars is teasing another reunion in the future Ahsoka TV show. Acting as a spinoff of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka will see Rosario Dawson return as the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano, made famous in the animated movie and series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, played by Ashley Eckstein.

We last saw Dawson’s Ahsoka battling the Corvus magistrate, Morgan Elsbeth in Dave Filoni’s “Chapter 13: The Jedi” of The Mandalorian Season 2. On the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn, this inclusion of Ahsoka in a post-Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi (1983) universe seemingly set up the story arc for her own self-titled series.

The sudden announcement of Christensen joining Ahsoka has caused fans to speculate just how the dead former Jedi turned Sith, father of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), can return after the original trilogy. There have been rumblings of a live-action introduction of the World Between Worlds as a way Vader could be revived for the series or even his inclusion as a Force Ghost which fans have seen often in Star Wars media.

In addition, Lucasfilm’s recent hire of YouTube sensation and Deepfake artist, Shamook, might signal that a de-aged CGI Christensen could appear via flashback. The artist famously recreated Hamill’s younger Luke Skywalker from The Mandalorian Season 2 finale so this could be a sign that Ahsoka may travel back to the Clone War era. This leads us to Dawson’s Ahsoka, and fans suddenly want someone new to take on the role if Star Wars chooses to go back in time. Let’s take a look:

Twitter user, @jynmystardust, shared their thoughts following Christensen’s announcement:

manifesting Laura Harrier as clone wars flashback Ahsoka

Laura Harrier gained international recognition when she starred as Liz in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) alongside leading man, Tom Holland. The actress later appeared in BlacKKKlansman (2018) and the television series, Hollywood on Netflix.

Another tweet from Em (@ahsokascomlink) echoed their sentiments:

ok but imagine laura harrier being cast as young ahsoka for clone wars flashbacks

Damian (@damcanary) could not contain their excitement for a Laura Harrier casting opportunity:

Malik (@KingKyberrr) took it one step further and replaced Dawson’s face with Harrier from a scene in showrunner Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian:

@adjeteyfio_ alluded to Lucasfilm’s de-aging technique:

IMO they don’t have to de-age Rosario to make a younger Ahsoka. There’s Laura Harrier who fits perfectly

Just how Christensen will appear in Ahsoka remains unclear and it certainly isn’t a done deal that his role will be in a flashback capacity. However, it seems some Star Wars fans already have their fan-cast favorite lined up if Lucasfilm decides to truly go back in time.
