Everything Samsung announced at IFA 2020
The IFA tech show in Berlin may not be running as usual, But that didn’t stop Samsung from showing off the wealth of new gear at a virtual press conference, dubbed “Life Unstoppable”. Here’s what the company had to offer, with its newly unveiled Galaxy Fold 2 foldable phone.
Premiere 4K laser projector
This short-throw projector (seen above)Despite the projector, it sits opposite the wall on which it is projecting. Samsung says it is extremely bright and vibrant thanks to being the “world’s first” HDR10 + certified projector. This should make for a highly cinematic experience.
There is no official pricing for the 130 inch model or the smaller 120 inch model, but it is not expected to come cheap.
Galaxy a42 5g
Although Samsung has not announced pricing for the A42 5G phone, it falls at the bottom of Samsung’s more budget-focused A-series, meaning it may be Samsung’s cheapest 5G handset. Spaces are thin on the ground, but the company showed a four-camera rear setup with a 6.6-inch display.
It is due to go on sale later this year.
Galaxy fit 2
This smartwatch provides fitness statistics for many different types of workouts (running, cycling, circuits, etc.) as well as providing heart rate, calorie burn, and speed. There are 70 different face options to choose from, and it can last up to 25 days on a single charge.
Official pricing is yet to be announced.
Odyssey G55 Gaming Monitor
Adding to Samsung’s current lineup of Odyssey gaming monitors, the G55 features a 1-millisecond response time, 240Hz refresh rate, and a 27-inch curved screen.
Terrace outdoor tv
After unveiling it earlier this year, Samsung was eager to brag about the Terrace again, a 65-inch weatherproof TV designed to be installed in your garden, as it is clearly something Is what we need now. The screen features an anti-reflective coating, 4K resolution and IP55 waterproof rating to keep it safe from rain.
The roof is already on sale for $ 5,000
Roaming cero on tv
While we’re on the subject of TV, Samsung spent some time rotating the Cerro TV. Launched at CES earlier this year, this bizarre picture can change from a standard landscape orientation to a portrait orientation to better display vertical videos from the likes of Instagram and TikTok.
Cerro is now available for $ 1,600
RB7300T Classic Refrigerator
Samsung’s latest fridge / freezer to hit Europe has customizable shelves, anti-frosting technology, and metal back plates, which the company says helps better insulate the fridge for better efficiency.
Wireless charging trio
Charging multiple devices simultaneously can mean a large mess of cables. Not so with Samsung’s new wireless charging pad, which can charge up to three Qi-enabled devices at once. In the demo, the company showed the Pad a Note 20, a smartwatch and a pair of Galaxy Buds Live headphones.
Pricing remains to be determined.
WW9800T Washing Machine & DV8000T Tumble Dryer
Samsung’s new washer and dryer units clearly use AI to learn your most commonly used washing modes, to automatically suggest the best, most efficient options for the various loads you use. Huh. It can detect the weight and soil level of your clothes to determine the best water and detergent levels.
They can link to your phone to set a timer when your load is complete or when you activate.
Pricing is not available at the time of writing.
