Eufy Security Indoor Cam 2K Review: Covering The Basics

Ufi Security Indoor Cam 2K

“Uffi’s indoor cam 2K delivers impressively fast video quality.”

  • Awesome 2K Video Footage

  • affordable price

  • Local Storage Options

  • Simple setup

  • Boring design

  • Weak internal speaker

Cheap cameras have a less stellar reputation. However, now everyone comes there, who comes with us and surprises us. An example is the Vise Cam V2, which offers exceptional features at very low prices.

We recently put Ufi’s latest offering, the Indoor Cam 2K Pan and Tilt, through its Pace, and were amazed by what the $ 50 security camera is able to offer. Now, it’s time to follow suit on another low-cost cam – the Ufee Security Indoor Cam 2k. It has all the features of sibling, minus the pan-and-tilt function. And it’s only $ 40.

2K footage that does not disappoint

So far the best part about the Ufi Security Indoor Cam 2 is its crisp 2K video footage, which offers a resolution of 2304 x 1296 pixels. Visually, the quality looks exactly the same as the pan and tilt version produced. It is not surprising that it sports the same 1 / 2.7 inch sensor with a 125-degree field.

The details are plentiful, while the colors give a slight saturation. Overall, the footage is impressive, but the dynamic range may be better, as the highlights are overblown against the neutral exposure of the scene. Impressively, Night Vision doesn’t fall heavily with footage, either. It does well to retain details, even in almost pitch black conditions.

Not much to see

Yuffie has not put a lot of thought behind its design. Made entirely of plastic, the Safety Indoor Cam is 2K lighter and powered via a micro USB port. The camera’s squash box is located above the base, so it can be adjusted for ideal viewing. It works, but there is nothing about the design that stands out.

This is good for maintaining detail even under almost pitch black conditions.

Since this is a stationary camera, you need to be strategic about its placement because the field of view at 125 degrees is narrower than other cams. Corners are ideal, this gives the best vantage point to cover the room. It comes with a mounting plate to attach to a wall, but you still want to be capricious (or bring an extension cord), as the power cord is only 4 feet long.

A basic security camera

As you can expect it to cost, it is a basic security camera. It checks all the icons you want to include to run a simple setup in one stroke, and nothing more.

Once you download the Eufy Security app, you will get control for the motion zone, notifications and motion detection. It does a great job of detecting people and pets, which come as a notification with a small screenshot. You can adjust the sensitivity so that it doesn’t bombard you constantly and every time it detects something.

Choice is always a good thing, which is why I appreciate that Ufee Security Indoor Cam 2k offers cloud and local storage options. If you choose the former, you get a 30-day free trial of UFi’s cloud storage, which saves up to 14 days of recording. After that, you’re looking at $ 2.99 per month for a single camera, or $ 29.99 for an annual subscription.

Whenever the camera is accessed for live view, the LED status light on the camera turns blue.

The built-in speaker is not particularly loud, so don’t pay attention to the alarm feature of the siren to scare someone. However, whenever the camera detects them and shouts, your pet may initially be shocked, “Hey, what are you doing there?”

There is an option to turn off the camera within the app, effectively powering the camera and microphone. If you are worried that Big Brother is watching, it gives you mental peace. However, Ufee still lacks two-factor authentication, and is a privacy concern.

Take us

If you can fork over an extra $ 10, choose Eufy’s second camera – the Eufy Security indoor cam 2K pan and tilt. I think Pan and Tilt’s title feature is worth an extra $ 10. Still, the Indoor Cam 2K performs just like its siblings, and if you don’t need the pan / tilt feature at all, you can save yourself the Hamilton.

How long will this last?

It should be better than the revolving model, as it has fewer moving parts. In the event that there is some type of malfunction, Yuffie provides a 1-year limited warranty for defects.

Is there a better option?

As mentioned, the Eufy Security indoor cam 2K Pan & Tilt is a better buy at $ 50. You’re paying a bit more, but you get that 360-degree coverage – plus more peace of mind about privacy because the camera can be kept away from view. Alternatively, the Vise Cam V2 remains the benchmark to beat due to its outstanding $ 20 cost.

Should you buy it

Yes. The price is cheap, and the image quality of the camera is impressive.
