Elon Musk Says We’ll Get Look At Neuralink Brain-Chip Device

Tesla CEO Elon Musk will finally reveal more about his brain interface company, Neuralink, on Friday 28 August.

Musk announced in a tweet early Wednesday that the latest working Neuralink device would be live webcast at 3pm PT on Friday.

Musk said the webcast would showcase V2, a machine that would be used to insert implants directly into the brain. He also said that the company still shies away from completing a LASIK-like process to place the brain chip, but they “may come very close in a few years.”

reached out to Neuralink to find out more about Friday’s webcast. We will update this story when we hear back.

The mission of Neuralink is to help treat brain disorders, preserve and grow the human brain, and eventually connect humans with artificial intelligence by placing a chip in the human brain. According to Musk, those braves would willingly go through the same procedure as Lasik laser eye surgery to get a chip in their brains.

He has also previously confirmed that the chip will be able to control hormone levels, potentially helping with anxiety relief, among other things.

The company hasn’t said much about its official plans and progress since last summer, but in July Musk said that Neuralink’s brain chip technology would allow people to effortlessly flow music into their brains.

While exciting in terms of technological progress, Neuralink’s brain chips have been compared to real life black Mirror Episode, concerns about questionable morals about privacy.
