Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez has been tapped to star in the upcoming film adaptation of the popular video game Borderlands alongside Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jack Black.
According to Variety, Ramirez will play the role of business titan and weapon manufacturer Atlas, the most powerful man in the game’s universe.
Filmmaker Eli Roth is directing the film from a screenplay by Emmy-winning Chernobyl producer Craig Majin.
“It’s an incredible honor for an actor starring Edgar’s caliber, talent and charisma in contrast to Cate Blanchett and this remarkable artist. Atlas really needs to be a magnetic personality, someone with charisma and charm, but this danger. The wind is under all, ”Roth said.
“I have been a fan of Edgar since his initial performance and he continues to amaze me with each dramatic turn. We want to create something wild, fun and very different from anything I have seen before from Edgar. I am into him. Very excited to work together.
Blanchett stars as Lynch, a woman with great superpower; Hart played the role of the legendary thief Roland; Curtis was described by archaeologist and scientist Drs. Taken as Tennis and Black plays the role of Claptrap, an enthusiastic robot.
Child artist Ariana Greenblatt, best known for playing the role of a young Gomorrah in the Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, will play the role of Tiny Tina, a 13-year-old explosives expert.
Avi Arad and Arad Arad of Aradh Productions are producing the project along with Eric Feig of Chitrakarstart. The executive producers are Randy Pitchford and Strauss Zelnick.
