Disney World Updates Its Face Mask Policy Again

Walt Disney World is continuing to reevaluate the protocols that are in place as the world continues to move forward and fight against the ongoing pandemic. Previously, they have lifted the face mask requirement for outdoor areas as well as began reducing social distancing around the theme parks.

Now, the Walt Disney World website has slightly updated its face mask policy once again.

Old Face Mask Policy

Previously, the face coverings chart listed “all theaters, including theater entrances” as one of the requirements for face coverings. You can see this reflected in the second row of the chart in the screenshot below.

New Face Mask Policy

Now, as you can see in the next screenshot [below], the language on the Walt Disney World website states “all indoor theaters” instead of “all theaters”.

This slight change from saying “all theaters” to “all indoor theaters” is important to note because not every theater at Walt Disney World is indoors. Now, Walt Disney World is requiring face masks only at “all indoor theaters”.

Reporter Scott Gustin first noticed this and Tweeted out the change:

Disney has made a slight change to its face mask policy, changing the second item in the checklist to now say masks required for “all indoor theaters.” The previous version just said “all theaters.”

This minor change may just be the start of something a bit bigger as Orange County, Florida announced today that it will be moving to Phase 3 starting tomorrow. This means the county will lift all face mask requirements.

At this time, Disney World has not stated if they will be lifting all face mask protocols, but Inside the Magic will update you as we get information.
