A lot is changing regarding health and safety measures in Disney Parks, Resorts, and properties across the globe, and that also includes Disney Store locations.
Since last summer, the Disney Store was adamant that Guests who visit Disney Stores across the United States would be required to wear a face mask. Although the Disney Store faced some difficulties while enforcing these rules, the official shopDisney website is now stating that fully vaccinated Guests may shop inside without a face mask, unless face mask is required by local regulations.
Updated mask policy
According to shopDisney.com, here is the latest update to the Disney Store face mask policy:
After careful consideration of guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), government agencies, and our own team of health and safety experts, fully vaccinated Guests may now enter Disney store locations without a face covering, unless a face covering is required by local regulations. Cast Members (including those that are fully vaccinated) are required to wear a face covering at all times.
So, it is important to be aware of the face mask rules in your area. Some Disney stores may still require masks for all Guests, regardless of their vaccination status, if local regulations require face masks indoors. But as long as local regulations do not require face masks to be work in stores, then the Disney Store will not require face masks for vaccinated Guests.
Many Disney Stores have closed
For those who are not aware, a few months ago we mentioned that Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products announced that at least 60 Disney stores across North America were shutting down due to the pandemic and downfall in sales which include many Disney stores in Canada ready to say goodbye this summer.
Many Disney fans including our readers at Inside the Magic were sad to hear this unfortunate news come from Disney and almost 80% of our followers stated that they would rather shop in a store than shop online. See here for more fan reactions.
For those who are looking for Mickey Mouse and Star Wars merchandise, Disney fanatics will still have the opportunity to shop for their favorite Disney items either online on shopDisney.com or by visiting any of the four parks in Walt Disney World, Disney Springs, Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort as well as Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
I know personally, I am very torn to see my local Disney Store close its doors this summer and hope to catch last-minute clearance deals on Mickey ears and Disney Loungefly bags, but it’s great to know I can enjoy my shopping experience like pre-pandemic days, mask free.
