Dirty Dancing sequel in the works with Jennifer Grey

Jennifer Gray, who starred in the romantic drama Dirty Dancing alongside actress Patrick Swayze, will appear in the sequel to the 1987 classic film, the studio behind the film, announced on Thursday.
Gray will also serve as an executive producer on the film, which will be directed by Warming Bodies director Jonathan Levine, Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. chief executive John Feltheimer said.
Feltheimer said on a call with industry analysts, “This will be exactly the type of romantic nostalgia that franchise fans are waiting for.”
The company did not provide any details about the plot of the film or when it was released.
In the original film, Gray played Frances original Baby ‘Houseman, a teenager who smiles with a dance instructor (Suez) while on vacation at a resort in New York in the 1960s.
Swayze died of cancer in 2009 at the age of 57.
Dirty Dancing was a box office hit and hit song “(I Had Had) The Time of My Life”, which won an Oscar for Best Original Song.
